Bartender

Pay: $5.00-$7.00 per hour + Tips
Position Overview
Come Join the opening team. We are seeking an experienced and personable Bartender to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing exceptional service, crafting quality beverages, and creating memorable experiences for our guests in a fast-paced restaurant and speakeasy environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesGuest Service
Greet guests promptly and present beverage and food menus with enthusiasm
Provide detailed menu knowledge and make recommendations
Answer questions about menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods
Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS system (Toast)
Accommodate special dietary needs and requests
Ensure timely delivery of all drinks to guests and service staff
Check back with guests to ensure satisfaction throughout the experience at the bar
Order Management
Enter orders accurately into POS system (Toast)
Communicate special requests and modifications to kitchen staff
Coordinate with bar backs and kitchen for timely service
Ensure accuracy of all orders before delivery to guests
Manage multiple bar guests simultaneously during busy periods
Process payments and handle cash/credit card transactions accurately
Beverage & Food Service
Prepare and serve drinks using accurate measurements and proper techniques
Maintain knowledge of our full menu including food and beverage offerings
Ensure all bar glassware meets DHEC sanitation standards
Manage daily beverage inventory
Assisting with receiving, issuing, and maintaining records of liquor and supplies from vendors
Serve food and beverages according to service standards
Ensure all items meet quality and presentation standards
Sales & Upselling
Increase average check through effective suggestive selling of higher tier alcohols
Promote seasonal cocktails or beverage promotions
Build guest relationships to encourage repeat visits
Inform guests about special dining events or beverage tasting events
Cleanliness & Maintenance
Set up and break down bar stations and bar wells
Keep assigned sections organized
Clear and reset bar top efficiently between guests
Maintain cleanliness of service areas and equipment
Ensure proper stock levels of supplies throughout shift
Assist with side work and cleaning duties
Teamwork
Support fellow bartenders and other restaurant staff
Communicate effectively with kitchen and bar staff
Assist other team members during peak times
Participate in pre-shift meetings
Report equipment issues or safety concerns to management
QualificationsRequired
Previous bartending experience (2-3 years)
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Strong knowledge of beer, wine and spirits, and standard cocktails
Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Basic math skills for processing payments and making change
Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Alcohol service certification (TIPS)
Preferred
Experience with POS systems (Toast)
Beverage certifications
Fine dining experience
Bilingual abilities (Spanish)
Knowledge of dietary restrictions and allergies
Event experience
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for 8-10 hour shifts
Capable of lifting and carrying items up to 50 lbs (kegs, beer cases, ice)
Comfortable working in hot kitchen environments
Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and move quickly
Manual dexterity for handling dishes and glassware
