Pay: $3.00 per hour + Tips

Position Overview

Come be part of the opening team! We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Server to provide exceptional dining experiences for our GreenHouse guests. The Server is responsible for taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring excellent guest satisfaction throughout their visit.

Key ResponsibilitiesGuest Service

  • Greet guests promptly and present menus with enthusiasm

  • Provide detailed menu knowledge and make recommendations

  • Answer questions about menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods

  • Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS system (Toast)

  • Accommodate special dietary needs and requests

  • Ensure timely delivery of all courses

  • Check back with guests to ensure satisfaction throughout meal

Order Management

  • Enter orders accurately into POS system (Toast)

  • Communicate special requests and modifications to kitchen staff

  • Coordinate with food runners and kitchen for timely service

  • Ensure accuracy of all orders before delivery to tables

  • Manage multiple tables simultaneously during busy periods

  • Process payments and handle cash/credit card transactions accurately

Food & Beverage Service

  • Serve food and beverages according to service standards

  • Maintain knowledge of daily specials and menu changes

  • Suggest wine pairings and beverage options

  • Prepare and serve NA beverages

  • Maintain proper food handling and safety standards

  • Ensure all items meet quality and presentation standards

Sales & Upselling

  • Promote appetizers, specials, desserts, and beverages

  • Increase average check through effective suggestive selling

  • Build guest relationships to encourage repeat visits

  • Inform guests about promotions and special events

Cleanliness & Maintenance

  • Set up and break down dining stations

  • Keep assigned sections clean and organized

  • Clear and reset tables efficiently between guests

  • Maintain cleanliness of service areas and equipment

  • Ensure proper stock levels of supplies throughout shift

  • Assist with side work and cleaning duties

Teamwork

  • Support fellow servers and restaurant staff

  • Communicate effectively with kitchen and bar staff

  • Assist other team members during peak times

  • Participate in pre-shift meetings

  • Report equipment issues or safety concerns to management

QualificationsRequired

  • Previous server or restaurant experience (2-3 years preferred)

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills

  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage service

  • Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environment

  • Basic math skills for processing payments and making change

  • Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays

  • Alcohol service certification if serving alcohol (TIPS)

Preferred

  • Experience with POS systems (Toast)

  • Wine and beverage knowledge

  • Fine dining experience

  • Bilingual abilities (Spanish)

  • Knowledge of dietary restrictions and allergies

  • Event experience

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for 6-8 hour shifts

  • Capable of lifting and carrying trays up to 30-40 pounds

  • Comfortable working in hot kitchen environments

  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and move quickly

  • Manual dexterity for handling dishes and glassware
